Waiting Time Slashed for Reissue of Patent Certificates

KIPO simplified procedures for the reissue of patent certificates as of June 1. According to the new system, a visiting applicant will be able to receive the certificate on the same day application is made, whereas in the past it took five to 10 days.

In the case of application on-line or by mail, the waiting time before certificate issuance will be reduced to less than two days from the previous 4-5 days. These reductions are possible through the simplification of the approval system enabling the person in charge of reissue to decide the matter immediately.
